OH, HELLO THERE

LET'S GET PERSONAL(ISH)

A short and sweet recap of my professional life so far!

I’m Katharina, a Greek-born, Netherlands-based Product and Service Designer with a deep passion for human behavior and experience design.

My journey started in Marketing Management, where I became fascinated by how people think, decide, and interact with products. While studying for my Master’s at Rotterdam School of Management, I found myself drawn to understanding user behavior beyond numbers—diving into their frustrations, motivations, and expectations.

That curiosity led me to Philips, where I spent over five years moving from a Management Traineeship into the world of UX, Product, and Service Design. I honed my skills in Design Thinking, Co-Creation, and User Research, leading projects that simplified complex experiences—whether through user-friendly interfaces, reimagined customer journeys, or more intuitive digital touchpoints.

Now, as a Senior Product  & Service Designer, I collaborate with different organizations, helping them revamp their websites, apps and digital experiences. I love using UX and UI design to create products that are functional, inclusive, and impactful—where great design meets real-world purpose.

When I’m not designing, you’ll probably find me analyzing films, creating digital art, or practicing barre and yoga.

Let’s connect and create something meaningful together.

Did you just say "free time"?

I'd call my free time, my inspiration time. This is the time to unwind, so that creativity can present itself.

A few things I enjoy (but not limited to): movies & TV series, barre, art exhibitions, traveling & baking.

F.A.Q.

Do you want to know more about how I work or how I am like? Check out the Frequently Asked Questions below!

Is there a process that you follow?
I follow the double diamond design process whenever I can. There are many projects for which it is simply impossible to do so. Even when it's difficult to follow it, it's still good to have in mind as it truly centers around users. At the very least, I always try to conduct research and prototyping.
Why are you enjoying being a Service/Product designer?
I'm interested in people and challenges. Our irrationality and predictability within our unpredictability make us so interesting to study and find solutions for. Then, there is this hard question: how can we bridge business demands with human needs? Answering this makes me enjoy this job even further.
Any design books that you recommend?
Well, the classic: the Design of Everyday Things. I also loved Steal like an Artist, Don't Make me Think & Thinking Fast and Slow.
Do you speak Dutch?
I do, but not at a fluent level! I've been taking Dutch classes for months now and I believe that soon I will get there!
