Background

I am Greek and I’ve been living in the Netherlands for the last 6 years. While completing my Master’s degree in Marketing management at Rotterdam School of Management, I realised how complicated and interesting human behaviour is. I just loved analysing people, trying to see how their experience was from their eyes.

After my studies, I started a Management traineeship at Philips. During that time, I moved more and more to User Experience and developed my skills on Design Thinking and Co-creation. My path progressed to product and service design, designing creative user solutions by following (oftentimes not lineary) the Design Thinking process: conducting research, creating personas and customer journeys, designing low-fi and hi-fi wireframes.

After more than 5 years in Philips, I decided that it was time for me to freelance and get experience in organisations outside of the healthtech industry. I currently work as a senior Product designer with a number of NGOs to update or entirely revamp their websites. I love using my UX and UI skills to create awesome, simple and intuitive customer experiences for important social causes.

Did you just say "free time"?

I'd call my free time, my inspiration time. This is the time to unwind, so that creativity can present itself.

A few things I enjoy (but not limited to): movies & TV series, barre, art exhibitions, traveling & baking.

F.A.Q.

Do you want to know more about how I work or how I am like? Check out the Frequently Asked Questions below!

Is there a process that you follow?
I follow the double diamond design process whenever I can. There are many projects for which it is simply impossible to do so. Even when it's difficult to follow it, it's still good to have in mind as it truly centers around users. At the very least the two parts that I always try to have are research and prototype.
Why are you enjoying being a Service/Product designer?
I'm interested in people. Our irrationality and predictability within our unpredictability makes us so interesting to study and find solutions for. Then, there is this hard question: how can we bridge business demands with human needs? Answering this makes me enjoy this job!
Any design books that you recommend?
Well, the classic: the Design of Everyday Things. I also loved Steal like an Artist, Don't Make me Think & Thinking Fast and Slow.
Do you speak Dutch?
I do, but not at a fluent level! I'm taking Dutch classes for months now and I believe that soon I will get there!
